2009 at the Comfort Inn, Valdosta, Georgia. Committee members attending
included President M. Keith Glass, Vice President Mike Jones, Board
Members Thomas Alley and Stephen Adams, Secretary-Treasurer John Conley,
Legislative Chairman Homer Bryson, and Executive Director Marion Conley.
Attorney Frank Childs and Chaplain Rick Lanford were unable to attend.
Visitors included: Bobby Carter, Mickey Pearce, Shirley Alley, Donna
Holcomb, Jim Bishop and Rhonda Barnes.
President Glass called the meeting to order and welcomed all who came.
Homer Bryson gave the invocation and also led us in the Pledge of
Allegiance.
A motion was made by Stephen Adams, seconded by Thomas Alley and passed
to approve the minutes from April, 2009. According to Marion Conley the
financial report was not ready because the bank statements had not been
received.
The fundraising effort was again discussed. Marion reported that income
was now being realized and gave the amount. Hopefully, the entire effort
is improving because income has increased over the income generated from
last year.
The Royalty and License Agreement with Public Safety Services, LLC will
expire May 31, 2009. A Renewal and Extension Agreement had been sent to
the office for the signature of President Glass with no changes over the
existing agreement. A motion was made by Homer Bryson, seconded by Mike
Jones and passed to accept this Agreement for one more year.
Accordingly, President Glass signed the new Renewal and Extension
Agreement.
The fees for the pistol match and run for the convention were decided to
be left the same. Mickey Pearce will call and see what fees will be
necessary for the golf tournament. The balance of the convention program
was discussed.
The spring golf tournament to be held the next day at Kinderlou Forest
Golf club was discussed with Ms. Rhonda Barnes and Mr. Jim Bishop.
Thirty-two teams have signed up to play. The Committee expressed to Ms.
Barnes and Mr. Bishop their most sincere thanks for the tremendous job
these two people have done in organizing this golf tournament.
A C.D. that was taken out a year ago earning 8% interest with the right
of recall has been recalled according to Marion Conley. Mike Hoffman has
called and said he could get us 9% interest for one year, with the right
of recall at the end of a year with the Bank of Hapoalim (an Israeli
bank but is located in the U.S., therefore subject to all U.S.

laws and regulations including being FDIC insured). The Committee was
also given an option of going with Wells Fargo at 7% interest, that also
being subject to being called at the end of a year or an annuity with
Hartford with varying rates but the annuity, of course, would not b FDIC
insured. Homer Bryson made a motion, seconded by Stephen Adams and
passed to go with Hapoalim Bank at 9% interest.
The Memorandum of Understanding with Webster University had expired.
Because five students had enrolled in the on-line courses Webster was
gracious enough to renew this Memorandum for another two year period,
Marion Conley was more than happy to report.

Safety Training Center in Forsyth, May 7, 2009 at 10:30 A. M. POAG will
again furnish a wreath for this impressive ceremony.

Patrol Retired Captain Jimmy Quarles. This motion was seconded by Homer
Bryson and carried.
Legislative Chairman Homer Bryson reported the POAG video is coming
along nicely.
