report, a motion was made by Mike Jones, seconded by

President Hill reported we had assisted with five
alcohol free proms this year and none to our
knowledge had any alcohol related incidents.
Secretary Conley reported SB 254 is dead for this
year.
Marion Conley reported Excelsior University would be
joining POAG in their booth at the Public Safety
Training Center 20th Anniversary celebration June

Sheriff Gene Hodge would be the new District

Secretary Conley had discussed with Attorney Frank
Childs a situation that exists where one of our
members had raised money in the name of POAG but has
not turned the money over to the office. Attorney
Childs said this situation could not be allowed to
exist. Any funds raised in the name of POAG,
absolutely must be turned into the office. In
addition, this member is requesting a list of
members in his district. Attorney Childs says we
cannot do this, as the rule is NO ONE gets a list in
any manner of our members. John Conley made a
motion, which was seconded by Thomas Alley that this
member be written and notified of these decisions.
This motion passed.
It was decided to vote on the 2008 convention. A
motion was made by Jimmy Jones, seconded by John
Conley and passed to go back to Jekyll Island for
the 2008

for a two-bedroom villa at the Jekyll Oceanfront
Resort. The dates will be August 24, 25 and 26,
2008.
President Hill reported the K-9 unit would be at the
2007 convention.
For some period, the question of how we were able to
have appointees to the Regional POST academies has
been tossed around. President Hill called Interim
Executive Director Ryan Powell who very graciously
sent us the booklet “Academy Advisory Board Policy”.
This booklet answers this question for us and helps
answer other questions we had. Each member of the
Committee was given a copy of this booklet.
A motion was made by John Conley, seconded by Thomas
Alley and passed to go into Executive session. After
a brief period of time, a motion was made by John
