POAG EXECUTIVE MINUTES
- January 2003:
The Executive Committee
of the Peace Officers’ Association of Georgia, Inc. held a meeting at 10
A. M., January 13, 2002, at the Holiday Inn, Macon, Georgia. Committee
members attending included President Harry Colbert, Vice President Homer
Bryson, Board Member Gary Hill, and Legislative Chairman Bob Brown. Board
Member Keith Moran, Secretary-Treasurer John Conley, Public Relations
Director Jimmy Jones, Executive Director Marion Conley, Attorney Frank
Childs and Chaplain Jimmy Waters were unable to attend. Visitors included
Carson Knight.
The meeting
was called to order and a welcome given all in attendance by President
Harry Colbert.
The minutes
and financial report from December, 2002 were approved upon a motion from
Bob Brown. The motion was seconded by Homer Bryson and passed.
No one had
heard from Board Member Keith Moran concerning the bulletproof vest from
Quantico. President Colbert volunteered to contact Keith, hopefully
before going to the Chief’s Conference to ascertain the status of this
project.
President
Colbert asked for input on the days to attend the Chief’s conference at
Callaway Gardens January 26-28, 2003. It was decided to leave on Sunday,
January 26, 2003, stay the night and return Monday after speaking to the
conference delegates. Executive Director Frank Rotundo had advised
President Colbert that POAG would be given about ten minutes on the agenda
Monday morning. POAG would follow Governor Perdue’s speech. Time wise,
Director Rotundo thought it would be somewhere 9:30 A.M.
It was
decided the date and time for the February meeting would be set later and
all parties notified of this information.
A motion by
made by Bob Brown, seconded by Gary Hill and passed to adjourn to the trip
to the Capitol for Governor Elect Sonny Perdue’s inauguration. |
